"Devil Child" Nico Robin (ニコ・ロビン) is an archaeologist originating from Ohara (オハラ), home of the world's largest and oldest library; she becomes an archaeologist at the age of eight and learns how to decipher the writings on the ancient stones called Poneglyph (歴史の本文(ポーネグリフ) Pōnegurifu), which are scattered around the world. However, the World Government destroys the island for housing archaeologists along with her returning mother, Nico Olvia (ニコ・オルビア Niko Orubia), researching these stones. As a result, Robin cooperates with various pirates and other outlaws, eventually becoming a member of Baroque Works as its vice president, nicknamed as "Ms. All-Sunday" (ミス・オールサンデー Misu Ōrusandē) at the time, being briefly an antagonist to the Straw Hat Pirates before joining them. Like the scholars of Ohara before her, it is her dream to find and decipher the Rio Poneglyph (真の歴史の本文(リオ・ポーネグリフ) Rio Pōnegurifu), which is said to tell the world's lost history. Her devotion to history and its preservation goes so far that she will even risk her life to protect ancient artifacts and buildings. Robin ate the Paramecia-type Flower-Flower Fruit (ハナハナの実 Hana Hana no Mi), allowing her to create temporary copies of parts of her body on surfaces near her. However, if her replicated parts are hurt, she feels the pain on her actual body. In the original Japanese series, Robin's voice actress is Yuriko Yamaguchi. In the 4Kids English adaptation, her codename was changed to Miss Sunday and she is voiced by Veronica Taylor In the Funimation English adaptation, her voice was supplied by Stephanie Young.
Robin has a somewhat macabre side to her, and often points out gross or morbid facts, usually to the disgust of Nami or Usopp. Robin will usually be the first to speculate that a crewmate has met or will meet with a horrible fate, often going into grisly detail. In other instances, she will express enthusiasm for anything with a horror theme.

- When Nami is forced to swing on a rope past the skysharks, Robin says the height is about 50 meters and she would die if she fell.
- Zoro and Nami return to the Going Merry in Skypiea but they cannot find Chopper, who was guarding the ship. Robin remarks that he may have been "shredded to pieces".

- While the other crew members commented on Sanji's bizarre luck in reaction to Duavl's face, Robin quipped that he would certainly have an interesting death one day.
- When Luffy's group went out to beat the kraken and lost their way back to the ship she mildly commented, that hopefully they would not be ripped to shreds by some monster.
- As Noah approached the battlefield between Straw Hat Pirates and New Fisherman Pirates, she wondered whether the ocean would be dyed red if everyone was smashed by it.
- When Robin heard the news that Nami, Franky, Sanji and Chopper were kidnapped by some mysterious men with rifles, she seemed concerned if they were already shot and had multiple holes in their body.
- While riding on Brownbeard with Luffy, Zoro, Usopp and Brook, she commented that it'd be nice if Nami and the others' arms and legs have not came off from frostbite.
